A new ultraviolet (UV) disinfection system was installed at the Kailua Regional Wastewater Treatment Plant to help keep the waters of East Oahu clean. The $11 million UV system will provide a cleaner, safer shoreline water quality and an added chemical-free, energy-efficient disinfection process.
