Short rows are worked by turning your knitting before reaching the end of a row. There are several techniques to avoid getting a hole at the turning point. My preferred short row technique is German short rows. Knit the “pivot” stitch, turn, make a double stitch by slipping the pivot stitch purlwise with the yarn over the needle. Pull tight.
