Here’s how Michael taught this Great Green Macaw the wave trick. Teaching the wave trick is based off of step up. First, it is important to make sure the parrot is properly trained to step up by itself. Refer to our other videos about basic training and step up training. The wave is taught by pretending you want the parrot to step up but clicking and giving a reward once the foot comes up but before the bird steps up. Use a clicker to click the moment the foot comes up and before it can reach yo
