The ice storm - and most of whatever ice it brought - might be over, but now it's about to get cold.

The NWS Blacksburg VA released a cold weather advisory at 12:22 a.m. on Monday valid from 6 p.m. until Tuesday noon for Alleghany County.

"The dangerously cold wind chills as low as 35 below zero could cause frostbite on exposed skin in as little as 10 minutes," states the weather service.

Governors in several states are telling people to remain indoors as brutal cold moves in behind a deadly winter storm that swept across the United States over the weekend.

A mix of snow, ice and bitter cold is heading for more than 180 million people across a vast stretch of the country.
